At approximately 12.05 pm on Wednesday 23 January 2008 a male entered the Riddiford Street, Newtown branch of the Bank of New Zealand. 

After milling around the inside of the bank for approximately 5 minutes the male approached a teller and handed them a note containing a threat. 

The teller handed the male a quantity of money and he left the bank , crossed the road and was last seen running up Rintoul Street, Newtown.
Male is described as :
Maori/Polynesian
20 - 25 yrs of age
Slim Build
Short, thick hair, dark in colour
Clean Shaven
Wearing:
Baggy Tan or Beige coloured trousers
Black or Navy coloured jersey
White t-shirt worn underneath
Black baseball cap with white motif on front
White shoes with black laces and dark coloured soles
Black Sunglasses
