Woman robbed outside the Vespa Bar

WELLINGTON CITY

At approximately 3am this-morning (Thursday 24.01.08), a 21 year old Caucasian female was assaulted and robbed of her handbag by three female offenders, outside the Vespa Bar in Allen Street.
The victim was approached by the offending trio and repeatedly punched in the face by one of them. During the assault the victim's handbag was snatched off her shoulder by one of the offenders.
A short while later, a male passer-by found the victim's handbag hidden in the street nearby and returned it to her. Police would like to speak with this person.
The main offender is described as follows:
„X female
„X Maori
„X 16 - 19 years
„X very slim build
„X approx 5'6 - 5'7 height
„X a rough looking face with perhaps old acne scars (not a smooth complexion)
„X black hair
„X she had a tiny diamond stud in her nose
„X dressed in dark, smart looking (dressed for town) clothing

The other two offenders are described as being:
„X similar in appearance to the main offender
„X similar age and height
„X similar builds but not quite as thin
„X also wearing dark coloured, smart looking clothing

The offenders were traveling in a plain looking, dark coloured, 4 door sedan or hatchback car.
Police are interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to help identify the offenders.
