Car vs train leaves 52-year-old dead

At approximately 12:10pm today a vehicle went though a stop sign controlled rail level crossing at the intersection of Dunlops Road and Railway Road Rangiora. 

The vehicle collided with a train and was pushed approximately 350 meters before coming to a stop. 

A 52yr old Nelson male suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. 

The name of the victim is not available at this time.
