Police charge man after Othello Dr shooting

This afternoon a bedside court hearing was held at the Auckland Hospital where a 27-year-old Otara man has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. 

The charge is in connection with the Othello Drive incident which occurred in Otara on Tuesday evening, 29 January 2008. 

The injuries sustained by two men, who were hosptialised following the shooting in Othello Drive, are not considered life threatening and both are in a stable condition. 

Enquiries into the incident are continuing, further arrests and charges are likely.
