Armed offenders in action after reports of firearm being presented
At about 1pm on 6/2/08 Police were advised of an altercation in Hampshire St, Christchurch, where a firearm was allegedly presented.
The parties concerned left the area in motor vehicles and were not initially located.
Subsequent enquiries led police to an address in the suburb of Linwood where one the groups was located.
Due to the suggestion of firearms being presented, the Arm Offenders squad was deployed and the occupants were talked out of the address without incident.
Police remained at the scene for some time due to the possibility there was someone still in the house and as at 9.45pm a final clearance of the house was being completed.
At this stage people from the house are still being spoken to by police and no arrests have been made.
