Irish boy band Westlife have saved the best for last: The final show on their New Zealand tour will be in New Plymouth’s TSB Stadium.

The group is performing four shows in New Zealand in May, travelling to Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland before their 13 May concert in New Plymouth.

NPDC Manager Recreation and Events Paul Nisbet says the show reinforces New Plymouth’s reputation as a major events centre.

“Sitting alongside the big cities for a major tour such as this demonstrates that New Plymouth is firmly on the entertainment circuit for promoters,” says Mr Nisbet.

“Having Westlife at TSB Stadium also accentuates the diversity of the facility. We had a heck of a lot of positive feedback from recent stadium shows such as Motorhead and The Beach Boys, and we know it’s a great space for major expos and sports events.”

Westlife’s hit songs include Swear it Again, Flying Without Wings, World of Our Own and Seasons in the Sun.

Tickets go on sale to Visa cardholders on Monday (25 February) and to the general public on 1 March.
