At about 1529 Hrs on 26/2/08 a mortar was located in a paddock behind the Rolleston prison, Canterbury.
The paddock was being ploughed when the mortar, believed to be from the WW II era was dug up.
The immediate area was cordoned off by police while the bomb disposal unit from Burnham Army camp inspected the device.
It was suspected to be a training round but was blown up as a precaution.
