Fatal Crash in Counties Manukau District

Counties-Manukau Police and Serious Crash Units, as well as other emergency services, are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on State Highway Two (SH2) near the intersection of Mangatangi Road, Mangatawhiri. 

A truck and late model car were involved in the crash, the female driver of the late model vehicle is the single fatality while the truck driver has moderate injuries and has been taken to Thames Hospital. 

SH2 is closed in the vicinity of the crash while the scene is attended to and the crash investigated, the estimated time of closure is four hours (7pm). 

Traffic diversions are in place at;
-SH1 and SH2 (Southbound traffic)
-SH2 and Okaeria Road (Northbound traffic)
Motorists intending to travel in or through the vicinity are asked to delay non-essential travel or seek alternate routes.
