Cycle race causes delays and diversions

The 2008 NZ Community Trust International Women's Cycle Tour of Wellington Stage Four will be underway on the Miramar Peninsular Circuit in Wellington from 10am today.

This will involve a number of road closures and motorists in the area should expect delays.

Road closures as follows... 

Full closure of Tauhinu Rd between Miramar Ave & Rotherham Tce. Rex St between Tauhinu Rd & Para St. Para St between Rex St & Rotherham Tce. Awa Rd between Para St & Karaka Bay Rd. Karaka Bay Rd between Awa Rd & Massey Rd. Massey Rd between Scorching Bay & Shelly Bay Airforce Base. Shelly Bay Rd between the Airforce Base & Miramar Ave. Miramar Ave eastbound only between Shelly Bay Rd & Tauhinu Rd. 

There will also be some minor road closures or detours in place on some of the approach roads.
