People will go to all lengths to win a prize and that’s just what Kirsty Dinnan did to win a brand new MINI.

Kirsty, aged 25 years, shaved her head and had a Mintshot tattoo placed on her butt as part of the “What would you do to win a MINI?” competition run by Marc Ellis’ new website, Mintshot.co.nz.

Mintshot.co.nz, which launched in November, has been running monthly competitions with MINI. The February competition was the craziest yet, receiving thousands of entries.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of entrants and the lengths they will go to, to win a MINI. Kirsty’s entry was certainly a stand out,” says Marc Ellis, Mintshot director.

Kirsty, a recent marketing graduate, who is based in Palmerston North, flew to Auckland on Wednesday to complete her challenge. At Mods Hair in Ponsonby, she said goodbye to her luscious blonde hair, as it was clipped off, followed by shaving foam and a razor.

Kirsty was then taken up the road to Auckland Tattoo studio, where she had a Mintshot tattoo embedded on her right butt cheek. During the process all she could say was: “I have won a car, I have won a car! Thank you. Thank you.”

“I was astounded that all she could say was ‘Thank you’, considering what she looked like! I did wonder if she would go through with it, as looks can be important to someone in their twenties. She’s a brave girl” says Ellis.

Kirsty is in the middle of job interviews and has a major one in a couple of weeks, so is hoping someone can lend her a wig!

Mintshot have three more MINI to give away in the next few months. Ellis says they have a few more tricks up their sleeves to find deserving winners.

Mintshot has 70,000 New Zealanders engaged in its model, whereby users watch ads and get rewarded with ‘Mintshot dollars’ which they can then use to win prizes such as plasma screens, flights, diamonds, BBQ’s, food, drink and much more.

As well as being an opt in entertainment portal for viewers to watch and give their opinions on advertisers’ latest products, services and commercials, the site provides advertises with invaluable data profiles on consumer behaviour.
