Fatal Crash in Canterbury District

At about 8.30pm Police were advised of a car fire on a secondary road approximately 2 km north of Ashburton, Canterbury. 

On arrival of Police and Fire Service a person was found deceased at the scene. 

It appears that the vehicle had crashed. It is not known at this stage whether any other vehicles were involved. 

Police are still dealing with the immediate scene and no information is available at this time regarding the deceased or the vehicle.
