Fatal microlight crash in Southland

At about 2.50pm on the 20th March 2008 emergency services were called to a Rural Property 2-3 km west of Riversdale near the Waimea Highway.

A microlight had crashed with one person on board.

The sole occupant died at the scene, he was a 50 yr old Christchurch man. No further details will be released until next of kin have been notified.

Police and CAA will be investigating the matter on behalf of the coroner.
