Driver in crash near Frog Rock dies

The occupant of the vehicle that crashed north of Frog Rock on State Highway 7 in the early hours of Friday morning died today at Christchurch Hospital as a result of the critical injuries he received.

He was Henry Maxwell CROFT aged 18 of Lake Sumner Road Hurunui.

He was driving south along Weka Pass Road when he failed to take a moderate right hand bend, ran off the road into a rock face.

The matter has been referred to the Coroner.
