Lake Road/King Street intersection to close on Sunday

This Sunday [13 April, from Saturday night midnight] the Lake Road/King Street intersection and roundabout will be closed to traffic for the installation of the cross track pedestrian overbridge.

Access to properties and businesses will remain open until Wednesday night midnight.

The intersection will remain closed until 6am Monday 21 April following the Hamilton 400 race event weekend.

The cross track pedestrian overbridge is the last of four being installed for the race event weekend. The overbridge will be open 24 hours a day to the public over the race event weekend for access across King Street.

Following its installation work will begin on the installation of the chicane, which will be immediately beside the overbridge on King Street.

From midnight Wednesday 17 April all roads that form the track will be completely closed.

Vehicles should not be parked inside access ways that will be blocked by blocks and fencing.

Also vehicles should not be parked on the circuit itself from midnight on Wednesday.

Cars left where they shouldn't be will be moved to the railway storage yards at the corner of Empire and High streets.
