WHANGANUI

Residents of Wanganui should not be alarmed at the sight of a Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) P3–K Orion aircraft flying low over the city tomorrow morning.

Captained by Wanganui Collegiate old boy Flight Lieutenant Campbell Hardy, the P3-K Orion will provide a fly-past for Wanganui Collegiate’s ANZAC Remembrance Service to be held at the school chapel.

The P3-K Orion, based at Whenuapai as part of RNZAF Number 5 Squadron, will be on a normal training flight but Flight Lieutenant Campbell said that the RNZAF was more than happy to support ANZAC Remembrance celebrations.

Flight Lieutenant Campbell and his crew will be supported on the ground by RNZAF personnel from the Ohakea Air Force base who are also former old boys of the school.

Wanganui residents can expect to see the maritime surveillance and search and rescue aircraft flying @500 ft from 9.00am.
