A workshop is being held at Foxton Beach this Saturday to seek further input into the Foxton Beach Draft Coastal Management Plan.

Residents and interested parties had the chance to have their say last year including the opportunity to suggest which land could be included and what options could be adopted for the long-term management, protection and development of the reserves at Foxton Beach.

A draft collated from submissions, and information gathered throughout the process, will be presented at a workshop to interested parties including residents, ratepayers and holidaymakers.

Facilities Asset Manager, Peter Shore, said while the draft would be presented, there could be other issues which still needed to be considered.

"We think we've got it nailed from the information we have received, and we want to make sure we have considered all users of our coastal area."

He said some people saw the Foxton Beach as a place for physical recreation and some were involved in conservation activities such as bird watching.

The workshop is being held at the Senior Citizens Hall (next to the Bowling Club), Seabury Avenue, Foxton Beach on Saturday, 19 April 2008, from 2pm to 4pm.
