Four males charged with assaulting tourists

Police have identified four of the five persons involved in the Assault of eight tourists in the area of Cashel and High Streets on Saturday 12 April 2008.

Four male Christchurch residents, all aged 22 years, are to appear at the Christchurch District Court on Friday, 18 April 2008, on Assault and Assault With Intent to Injure charges.

Detective Senior Sergeant HARVEY says the enquiry is following an active line to identify the person responsible for the stabbing and Police will charge this male for his involvement.
