Fatal crash in Nelson

At approximately 2.20pm Police were advised of a serious crash at the intersection of State Highway 60 and McShane Road.

The crash involves a truck and trailer unit verses a car. At this time the road is closed, with detours in place via Swamp Road and Queen Street.

Shortly after arrival one victim was confirmed as deceased.

Police Serious Crash Unit, Photography, Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit and General Duties staff are investigating with assistance from Fire Service and St John Ambulance.
