Appointments for Simon Moutter and Chris Quin

Telecom New Zealand has today announced the appointment of Simon Moutter
to the newly-created role of chief transformation officer, Telecom Group.

Telecom also announced that Chris Quin has accepted the role of CEO Gen-i,
with responsibility for Gen-i’s operations across New Zealand and
Australia.

Mr Moutter has held several key executive roles in Telecom, most recently
COO Business and acting COO Telecom Retail since the beginning of this
year.

"The creation of this new role on Telecom's executive team of chief
transformation officer is reflective of the sheer size and scope of the
transformation ahead for Telecom New Zealand. We need to deliver our
regulatory Undertakings and build a series of new, world class networks
and services," said Paul Reynolds, chief executive, Telecom.

"We are delighted that Simon has accepted this significant leadership
challenge which draws on his unmatched understanding of the Group's
dynamics and his terrific record of delivery."

Mr Moutter's key responsibilities will include overall leadership of the
wide-ranging change programmes that aim to transform the Telecom Group by
embedding customer focus, enabling new technologies and delivering
productivity benefits.

Chris Quin has accepted the role of CEO Gen-i, with responsibility for
Gen-i’s operations across New Zealand and Australia.

“Chris has been part of the Telecom team since 1991 and has been general
manager of Gen-i in New Zealand for the last few years as part of the key
team that has taken Gen-i to become New Zealand's most preferred ICT
services provider,” Paul Reynolds said.
