Crash blocks SH2 Upper Hutt

6.45am Police are currently dealing with an accident on SH2 in Upper Hutt.

The accident occured at 06.00am about 500 metres south of the Moonshine bridge, involving a car and a motorbike. At this stage it is unknown if anyone is injured.

Both south bound lanes are closed while the accident scene is cleared. Diversions along Moonshine Road are in place.

It is hoped the road will be fully open by 07.00am. Northbound lanes are open.
