Attempted robbery, BNZ Milford
At 3pm today a male walked into the Milford branch of the BNZ on Kitchener Road.
He approached a teller and handed her a plastic bag as well as a typed note that instructed her to put money into the bag.
The instruction was was not complied with.
The offender stood and waited for a few seconds before he realised that he was not going to receive any cash.
He then picked up his note and bag back from the teller before walking out and heading down an alley next to the bank.
He has been seen by a witness leaving the bank and walking down the alley, getting on a motor bike and riding away.
He is described as; a male, wearing a green anorak jacket and black jeans, as well as white sports shoes, black gloves and a light purple motorcycle helmet, he was wearing sunglasses under his helmet.
We are seeking any information from anyone in or near Milford today around 3.00pm who recalls seeing a male fitting this description or from anyone who knows of the crime or offender.
