Suspicious Fire in Canterbury District

On Wednesday 30th April 2008 at around 7:00 am the NZ Fire Service attended a suspicious fire at the old Grosvenor Tavern on the corner of Moorhouse Avenue and Madras Street, Christchurch.

A small fire was located within the building underneath a stairwell appears to have been deliberately lit.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or persons around the tavern or Christchurch Polytechnic buildings early in the morning.
