One dead after three car crash

At 2155hrs on the 6 May 2008, the Southern Communications Centre received a call regarding a vehicle crash on Main North Road near Kainga, Christchurch.

People were reported trapped in the car.

Police, Fire and Ambulance attended the crash scene.

Three cars were involved in the crash.

A Nissan Pulsar motor vehicle was traveling South on Main North Road the driver of the vehicle is in a serious condition but his injuries are not life threatening.

The female passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.

The other two vehicles involved in the crash were traveling north, they were a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Nissan Skyline.

All vehicles were extensively damaged.

A full investigation will be carried out by the Papanui Police and the serious crash unit.
