Avondale CIB staff are looking for two men who seriously wounded a 21 year-old man and his father in their Three Kings Liquor Store at 503 Mt Albert Rd last night at about 9pm.

The offenders, both described as Polynesian men, were confronted by the 21 year-old when they tried to leave the store without paying for the alcohol they wanted.

He received a serious and deep laceration to his face for his efforts while his father was also cut about the face and arms.

Both men were hospitalised, the father having to receive an immediate blood transfusion due to the large amount of blood loss.

The offenders, described as being in their late teens or early 20s, left the scene empty-handed and drove off in a Maroon Toyota Camry-type vehicle, no registration number was obtained.

The scene was cordoned off last night and is being examined today.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has information about those involved or who may have seen some of the activity at or near the Three Kings Liquor Store.
