Pedestrain died as result of motor vehicle accident

On the 22/05/08 at approximately 7.20 pm a male pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on the northern approach to the Waitaki Bridge, south of Glenavy.

No other persons were injured.

Police are currently notifying next of kin.

Police will be continuing to investigate the incident and no further information will be available until the 23/05/08.

Waimate Police will be investigating the accident.
