Search for missing kayaker in West Coast

12pm Police and ambulance are currently at Lake Poerua, near Lake Brunner on the West Coast searching for a missing Kayaker.

Police were notified at 11.20am today of a kayak that had overturned on the lake.

One person made it the shore and is being treated by St John ambulance staff for shock and hypothermia.

A second person is still being looked for. Search and rescue staff from Greymouth are assisting at the scene.
