North Shore fire causes traffic delays

11.45am Police on the North Shore are assisting Fire with a large fire in Beachhaven.

The scene is Kahika Road at the Northern end of Birkdale road where it intersects with Beachhaven Road.

There is considerable traffic congestion in the Beachhaven Road, Birkdale Road areas.

There are diversions in place to keep vehicles and persons away from the scene.

Police advise the public to avoid travel in the area or face large delays.
