Slips and flooding in Hawke's Bay

Police advise the motoring public to take extreme caution when travelling in the area of State Highway 5, Te Pohue.

There is heavy fog, driving rain in this area, conditions are treaherous.

Police are currently arranging for contractors to attend to a number of slips in the area. There are rocks on the roadway in the north bound lane approx 2 km south of SH 5 and Mcvicar's Road intersection and there are more slips approx 1.2 Km North of Te Pohue.

The road surface is very slippery and there is a lot of surface flooding in the area.

Again we ask motorists to take caution and watch of slips and rocks that may have fallen on to the roadway.
