NZ and Australian Navy's to battle it out on the Rugby field
The annual rugby match between the Senior Men’s Rugby Teams from the Navy’s of New Zealand and Australia will take place on Wednesday 28 May at Vikings Rugby Park in Canberra, Australia.
As well as the top prize, the Lou Smith Cup, which is currently held by the Royal New Zealand Navy, a Player of the Match award will also be presented.
Of the match, Captain Dean McDougall, the senior officer travelling with the team representing the New Zealand Navy, says: “Our Navy fielded a colts team that saw victory over the Australian Navy on NZ soil recently, now its time for the senior side to emulate this on Australian soil.”
With professional pride and loyalty to not only their respective Navy but to their country at stake, this will be a fiercely contested match – the challenge is on.
