Train delayed by car on track

9pm - At about 6:55pm tonight a driver got his vehicle stuck on the railway lines at the end of Tamatarau Side Rd, Tokomaru, Horowhenua.

Police have attended the scene and the vehicle has been removed from the railway tracks.

ONTRACK are checking and testing the railway lines in the area that the vehicle has driven as a precaution.

One train that is delayed by this and is stopped near the scene.

ONTRACK report about 100 passengers on the train and it is expected to be on way to Palmerton North within the next 30mins

Police are talking with the driver of the vehicle and believe alcohol was a factor in him getting stuck
