Bank Robberies in Meadowbank and Otara

Auckland Police are busy dealing with two bank robberies.

Just after 1.30 pm police received reports of two men carrying a sawn-off shotgun running from the Meadowbank ASB and driving off in 'greeny' Peugeot car.

A car matching this description was located a short time later near the intersection of Grand Drive and Abbots Way.

At 1.50 pm a report was received from the Bairds Road ASB of a lone male who had run from the bank after presenting a note to tellers and demanding money.

The two events are not thought to be related and any further statements will be released by the respective Crime Squads from Auckland City and Manukau.
