Location of incident: Makara Road.
Incident Type: Road Closure
Currently the Makara Road is closed as a result of a fully laden logging truck towing and trailer sliding off the edge of the road.
A heavy recovery crane is making its way to the scene from Palmerston North.
Based on this information and the travel times from Palmerston North the road could remain closed until approx 8 PM to night (2000 Hours)
If the situation changes a new media alert will be issued.
