At approximately 4.06pm on Sunday the 1st of June 2008 a robbery was reported at the Russell Street Store in Dunedin.

A male armed with a knife has entered the store and has demanded money from the sole occupant.

He has taken a moderate amount of cash before running off down Russell Street towards Cannongate.
 
The offender was wearing a dark coloured trench coat, a hooded top with the hood up and dark trousers.

The offender presented a knife described as black handled with an 18cm long silver blade.

Following inquiries in the area Police have arrested a 24 year old Dunedin man and have charged him with aggravated robbery.

He will be appearing in the Dunedin District Court

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the robbery who may have seen the offender going to or leaving the store.

Police would like to thank the members of the public in the area who provided information that lead to the apprehension of the offender.
