Death at scene of hedge fire in Bay of Plenty

Police and other emergency services were called to a hedge fire at 3.10am this morning in Hamurana Road, Ngongotaha.

A person found lying on the ground in the vicinity of the fire did not respond to urgent medical attention and has been pronounced deceased.

Rotorua CIB are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
