Game cancelled due to leak in stadium roof

Due to a leak in the stadium roof of Challenge Stadium in Perth, tonight’s ANZ Championship match between West Coast Fever and Suzuki Pulse has been cancelled.

After a 30 minute delay in the game following the half time break, match officials assessed the field of play as unsafe. Consequently the match was deemed a draw according to competition rules.

“We appreciate the frustration this has caused to the teams and the fans,” ANZ Championship General Manager Tony Holding said.

“The rules and processes are in place to deal with the unforseen circumstances which has led to tonight’s cancellation, but we will now be working with teams and venues to try and avoid a similar situation occurring.”
