Rugby town
Christchurch will be a rugby town this weekend with the English and the All Black game on Saturday night.
Christchurch Police will also be out there says Inspector Gary Knowles.
"We'll have a team at the game who will then be on duty in town until 2am, plus an overlapping team working 9pm until 5am," he says. "We'll focus on making the inner city a safe place for all those who have come to see the game and all those who chose to enjoy themselves in town afterwards."
Inspector Knowles says that police will concentrate on disorder and drinking.
"We'll be enforcing the 'Broken windows' concept by focussing on breaches of the Liquor Ban and minor crimes to reduce the number of more serious assaults. The One Way door policy is in place and I'd strongly encourage those who enjoy their night out to be in a bar by 4am."
Oxford Terrace will be closed to all vehicles, including taxis, from 7pm- 5am.
