Fatal crash in Christchurch

At 0010hrs on the 22 of June 2008 Police were informed that a young person has been hit by a car on Fendalton Road, Christchurch.

The person has died as a result of their injuries. The next of kin have not been located or informed at this stage.

Police, ambulance and the serious crash unit are in attendance.

The road has been closed and a diversion is in place.

The offending car and driver have been located and the driver is assisting Police with there enquiries.

The CIB are investigating this crash and any further media releases will be made later this morning.
