Police apprehend 4 Offenders in Wellington

A call from a member of the public alerted police to 4 males breaking into cars in Churton Park at 4am this morning.

The offenders decamped in a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police located the offenders in the vehicle a short time later travelling north on State Highway One.

When Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it decamped and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle was spiked by Police at Mana and one tyre on the vehicle was deflated but continued travelling north.

It was spiked again at McKays Crossing but continued in a damaged condition to Otaki where the offenders stopped and gave themselves up.

A significant amount of stolen property was recovered from the vehicle.

Four males will appear in the Wellington District Court today.
