Car hits power pole in Porirua

Police are dealing with a car accident in Champion Street in Porirua.

This occured just before 4am when a car hit a power pole.

This has resulted in power being cut to a large area of Porirua East.

No one was injured in the accident.

Champion Street is going to be closed until about 6.00am so a new power pole can be installed.

Residents in the area should use Mungavin Avenue as the alternative route.
