Icy Road Conditions - Western Bay of Plenty

Reports of icy conditions continue to be received from throughout the central North Island.

Bay of Plenty Police urge motorists travelling in the Rotorua, Tauranga, & Taupo areas to exercise caution when travelling.

Alerts have been requested for SH30 Rotoiti & Tarawera Rd where substantial black ice & snow is reported. SH5 is being gritted however caution is still required.

Motorist are advised to delay travel unless urgent, to watch following distances, and drive to the prevailing conditions if travel is essential.
