UPPER HUTT

Upper Hutt Police are seeking assistance from the public to help identify an elderly woman found wandering an Upper Hutt Street this morning.

Between 9.00 and 11.00 this morning, the woman was seen wandering around Gemstone Street and was referred to the Police by a member of the public.

The woman is believed to be approximately mid-60's and is of slight build. She has brown hair which is greying at the sides. She is wearing black patent leather shoes, pink and white bed socks, navy coloured slacks, a long black t-shirt, a pink sweatshirt, brown cardigan and has a long black coat. She is also wearing brown gloves and is carrying an empty black handbag.

She has given her name as Beatrice - or Betty - but Police are unsure if either are her correct name.
Anyone who may know the identity of the woman is asked to call the Upper Hutt Police on 04 527 2300
