Around 1pm Friday 25 July 2008 a young woman was indecently assaulted while out running on Riverlaw Terrace, St Martins, Christchurch.

Police are concerned about this incident due to the fact it occurred in broad daylight in the popular recreational area around Hanson's Park.

The offender is described as male, late teens to mid twenties with olive skin and jet black hair, short to medium in height with medium build wearing dark clothing. He possibly left the area in a white Honda Civic vehicle.

'These types of offences are particularly distressing for the subject of such an attack and the Police are looking for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have in formation leading to the identification of this young man,' said Detective Gillespie.

'Young women should be able to run in a recreational area without attracting this sort of attention and we are asking for the public to help in this case.'

Any information to Detective Bryan Gillespie, Southern Volume Crime, 03 3632545.
