Update to Body on Motorway

Police have yet to identify the body of a male located at approximately 2100 hrs on the 25th July 2008 on the southern motorway.

Initial enquiries indicate that the male was attempting to run across the motorway when he was hit by a south bound vehicle. Police have spoken to the driver of the vehicle involved.

The cause of death will not be known until the autopsy is completed and no further details of the deceased will be released until after the body is identified and the next of kin have been notified.

The Police wish to remind pedestrians of the dangers of crossing any motorway on foot.
