Escaping custody in Waikato

Thames police have apprehended a male who had escaped custody.

The male had been arrested shortly before 1am for breaching bail.

He had allegedly threatened police. Due to the nature of the threats the Waikato Armed offender's squad was deployed.

Following 4 hours of negotiation the male was arrested and retaken into custody.
