Manawatu Gorge, Hospital Hill closed due to slips

5.20pm - Police wish to advise motorists of two slips that have closed roads.

The Manawatu Gorge is completely blocked by a large slip. Contractos are still on their way to clear it so it could be sometime before this road reopens.

The second slip is SH43 (Hospital Hill) just south of Taumarunui. This too has blocked the entire road. It is not known how long until this road can be reopened.
