Gas Leak closes roads in Mt Albert

11.40am - Emergency services are dealing with a gas leak near the intersection of Mt Albert Road and Alberton Avenue.

This has necessitated the closure of Mt Albert Road between New North Road and Owairaka Avenue.

The closures are causing some congestion and some vehicles are attempting to bypass the closures.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area. It is not known at this stage how long the closures will remain in place.

Reopening will be notified.
