Police are still asking for assistance from the public to locate a missing person.

83 year-old Henry Alexander Saunders was last seen yesterday morning and was believed to be driving a white Ford Econovan registration number DNL614 in the Takanini, Papakura area.

Mr Saunders suffers from dementia and can appear confused when spoken to. Early this morning he contacted family members by phone and stated that his van was in a ditch somewhere. The Police Eagle helicopter has flown over the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

The missing man is described as being of solid build, about 5'8' tall, with wavy grey hair, balding on top. He is wearing a blue and white checked shirt under a navy blue jersey; creamy brown trousers and black shoes.
Anyone who has seen the missing man or his vehicle is asked to contact the Police Northern Communications Centre or the Howick Police Station.
