Accident closes Main North Road

A middle aged man was struck by an ambulance as he crossed the Main North Road in northern Christchurch this afternoon.

At 1.15pm an ambulance travelling north on the Main North Road between Sturrocks and Prestons Roads, has struck a middle aged man. Police are investigating and ask any witnesses to please contact Papanui Police, phone 374 1700.

Part of the road should be reopened soon.
