Fatal accident in Wellington

Emergency services are at the scene [6:00pm 28 Aug 2008] of a fatal accident on the Wellington Urban Motorway just north of the Terrace Tunnel. Access to the motorway northbound from Karo drive has been stopped. Southbound traffic is also being diverted off the motorway at the Terrace off ramp. Motorists are advised to avoid this area until further notice. Access on to the motorway northbound can be gained via the Tinakori Road on ramp.
