Crash in Canterbury

It has come to Police attention that some media are broadcasting there has been a crash in Christchurch last night after a Police pursuit. That information is incorrect. At around 12.30 am this morning Police were leaving an address in Hills Road when they noticed a vehicle travelling past at speed. The Police got into their car, activated the flashing lights and siren before commencing a u-turn to follow that vehicle. By the time the Police had completed the u-turn the speeding vehicle had already crashed into a lamp post. Two occupants from the vehicle are currently in Christchurch hospital being treated for a variety of injuries.
